About this course

Communication during nurse-patient clinical interactions have a significant impact on patient outcomes.  Effective communication between nurses and patients can reduce uncertainty, enhance greater patient engagement in decision making, improve patient adherence to medication and treatment plans, increase social support, safety, and patient satisfaction in care.

Objectives

  • Introduce the basics of Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Remote Patient Therapy (RPT) to assist nurses in incorporating programs in their practice.
  • Compare similarities and differences of RPM and RTM for compliance in documentation and utilizing the approved devices and assessment tools.
  • Discuss types of remote monitoring devices and the clinical programs associated with devices to assist nurses and case managers in using the correct device to measure physiological data associated with the medical diagnosed chronic health condition.
  • Outline clinical care plan for remote monitoring programs through a step-by-step demonstration to better understand the importance of patient involvement in achieving behavioral changes.
  • Describe the benefits of RPM and RTM in special populations to promote adoption of remote care.

Who is this course for?

The target audience for this course are nurses and healthcare case managers.  Two (2) Continuing Education Credits (CE) are rewarded upon successful completion of the course.
