About this course
The focus on this course is on the study of fundamental concepts of Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) related to nursing practice including developing skills needed to meet the needs of patient using remotes technology and the nursing process.
Objectives
- Apply the principles underlying all nursing interventions procedures within CMS guidelines related to Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Remote Patient Therapy (RPT)
- Examines the relationship of health assessment to health promotion of RPM and RTM utilizing technology to provide early interventions and promote health.
- Demonstrate recommendations and process to overcome barriers to successful remote monitoring care
- Integrates the ability to determine the appropriate remote therapy and monitoring devices associated with the diagnosis code.
- Practices critical thinking skills to organize a clinical care plan with CMS requirements for remote monitoring programs to help promote health and patient engagement.
- Identifies the opportunities for nurses to take a leadership role applying RPM and RTM programs in special populations to provide access to care and promotes health.
- Demonstrates an understanding of quality measures of remote patient care and technology within the legal, ethical, and regulatory framework of nursing practice.
Who is this course for
This course is for nurses and case managers interested or are already working in the field of remote care. The course is approved by the California Board of Nursing for 2 Continuing Education Credits (CE’s).
